From the article: The Pranksters
When I taught diving at a big scuba diving resort, we used to amuse ourselves by pulling pranks on our fellow instructors. What is the funniest prank that you have pulled on a fellow scuba diver? Share Your Prank
Monkey Nuts
- I was not responsable for this prank but my dive buddy and me were prepairing to suit up when he put a large handful of monkey nuts into a friends dry suit. It was not until he tried to put his foot into the suit that he found the nuts

Fin swap
- Offer your buddy to swap fins underwater (write on pad). When they take off their, you grab them and swim away leaving them stranded and flailing helplessly.

Air in the Wetsuit
- When you and your buddy get to the surface, you politely put your reg up his leg and hit the purge. Presto! You have a big balloon . They get a weird feeling and you get the blame.

Grabbed in the Swim-Through
- I didn't do it, but the guy ahead of me grabbed his buddy's BC, holding him back, when they were right in the middle of a swim through on Santa Rosa Wall off Cozumel. The guy got kind of panicky as he obviously though he was stuck. Maybe not the safest thing at 100', but devilish funny.

Ice in the Suit
- When guiding divers at the cenotes, my co-workers and I used to help each other zip up our suits -- our nice, warm 7 mm wetsuits. This led me to think of the following prank. I am proud say that I was the first person doing it . The prank is very simple, but annoys everybody and get some laughs from the costumers. I took some ice cubes from the ice chest and pretended to be nice by helping my friends to zip up their suits. I would slide an ice cube inside the suit and make knots in the zipper string so that the diver can't open it unless somebody helps him. After a while, other divers started making variations of the joke
