My Review

Diving in Singapore holds fonds memory for me. My first diving experience was at Pulau Hantu dive site with my friend and first-ever dive buddy.

Pulau Hantu dive site is a 30-minute boat ride from the main island, and is a well-known dive spot. As Singapore is a tropical island, diving here is excellent year round. “Hantu” is the malay word for ghost and Pulau Hantu is aptly named as the “island of ghost”. Despite its spooky name, divers can expect a wide variety of underwater sea life.

Although visibility is not always as clear as in other countries, the experience diving experience at Pulau Hantu is awesome. Divers can encounter sea life such as anemone, fish, octopi and seahorses as well as interesting objects such as bottles, shoes and even tires which the fish have made their homes.

On my first open water dive at Pulau Hantu, It felt strange, yet thrilling, to see what lies beneath the sea. After getting my scuba certification at Pulau Hantu, I have returned many times to the dive site. Each trip brings a new experience and interesting finds. To end each wonderful dive trip, a barbeque awaits the hungry divers on the island before they head back home.
