Soft Coral and Diver, Red Sea, Egypt

When most people think of Egypt they think of pyramids, pharaohs, and the Nile, but most avid divers can tell you there's a whole other side to Egypt - the Red Sea.

Barren desert abruptly changes to amazing colored coral and marine life beneath the sea. Diving in the Red Sea is amazing and it is definitely one of the top dive destinations in the world. Diving in Egypt is really for everyone, no matter what your skill level or budget. Backpackers will feel at home in relaxed towns like Dahab and Nuweiba that have cheap diving and even cheaper accommodation while those looking for a few more creature comforts will find what they're looking for in Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada, and Taba. Of course the hardcore diver is also catered for with week-long "dive safaris" (liveaboards) cruising all of the most famous dive sites: Ras Mohammed; Thistlegorm; and the Straits of Tiran to name only a few.

I've created a photo gallery that will give you a small taste of the awesome diving that awaits you in Egypt.
